Accessible and Connected Working Group Update
Snow Hill Public Realm Programme
Permanent bollards will be installed in the new public realm on Colmore Row at the top of Livery Street to prevent drivers from doing a u-turn across the pavement. Drivers will still be able to u-turn outside the front of the station. Some vehicles like black cabs need to be able to make these turns, so unless larger vehicles start to do so this is less of a concern.
Formal consultation on the project at the Newhall Street junction with Colmore Row begins soon with a chance to review the final proposals on site in the lobby of 103 Colmore Row.
Group Strategic Review – Green Paper
The BID team produced a second draft green paper on the future aims and activities of the Working Group in Term 4 and beyond. It retains the form of the first draft: ’what we would like the District to look like in the future’ and adds a data foundation drawn from our Mid-Term Research project. The draft was discussed very positively with further suggestions for additions and amends. The document will now proceed to finality with its outputs forming part of the BID4 Business Plan.
Green Travel
We are assembling a green travel page on our website that will include details (and a link) to the National Express discounted bus travel scheme. Our regular Network & Drinks event in October focused on green travel, including the ModeShift Stars scheme, the National Express offer and other schemes.
Dr Bike
After the success of the free Dr Bike checks at Snow Hill Square during Bike Week, we are supporting two more sessions in 2022.
