Train & Tram

Colmore Business District has a dedicated train station at the heart of the District on Colmore Row, with services running every few minutes. Located at the end of the Shakespeare Line, commuters can travel from Snow Hill Station to a number of major towns and cities, including Stratford Upon Avon, Worcester and Stourbridge.

As well as train services, the station is also a stop for the West Midland Metro, which connects Wolverhampton to Birmingham.

Midland Metro Alliance is working on behalf of Transport for West Midlands to extend the Metro and Colmore Business District is situated close to the beginning of the Birmingham Eastside Metro extension to Digbeth. You can learn more about Birmingham’s exciting Metro developments by visiting the Midland Metro Alliance’s website at www.metroalliance.co.uk

Birmingham’s main transport hub, New Street Station, is just 3 minutes’ walk from the District, connecting the city to the rest of the country.

Clean Air Zone

From 1 June 2021 a Clean Air Zone will be introduced to Birmingham to tackle dangerous levels of air pollution in the city which are impacting on public health. This means vehicles which do not meet certain emission standards will be charged to drive within the A4540 Middleway, where Colmore Business District is located, but not the Middleway itself. To find out more about the Clean Air Zone and to see if your vehicle is exempt, click the button below.

Cycle

The way in which we move and work within the city has changed. With social distancing measures in place on public transport, commuters are being urged to find alternative routes into the city where possible. A trend that is continuing to become more attractive, particularly in the current climate, is cycling.

If you’re looking to swap four wheels for two, we’ve put together a guide for cycling in and around the District.

West Midlands Cycle Hire Scheme

A new region-wide cycle hire scheme has launched in the West Midlands.

The scheme will see 1500 bikes and 170 docking stations distributed across the region, including Birmingham City Centre, offering more people the opportunity to enjoy cycling and provide a convenient and sustainable alternative to the car for shorter journeys.
